What Really Counts as Cheating?

One of the most dreaded questions a person can ask their partner is, “Are you cheating on me?” Those seconds between the question and the answer is maddening. The answer can make or break a relationship.
And now it’s even more complicated. At one time, the answer was pretty clear cut. Either you were having sex with someone or you weren’t. Today we have become so much more sophisticated with our definition of intimacy. We realize that this cheating business has many more layers then we ever imagined. What is considered ‘cheating’ uncertain and unclear. So what is actually cheating on someone?
Here are five basic types of cheating may occur isolated or may blend into one another. The blending of these infidelities make stopping the affair more difficult. All involve emotions, a sense of connection, and a bond not shared by others. When you are doing any or all of these with someone other then the partner you have an understanding of exclusivity with, some form of betrayal is occurring.
